Peak & Lake District Tour

Day 1 — The Peak District

Our adventure begins as we journey into the heart of the Peak District — England's first and most beloved national park, famous for its dramatic limestone landscapes, ancient villages and hidden underground wonders.

Our first stop is Matlock Bath — a charming Victorian spa town nestled in a stunning gorge along the River Derwent. With its quirky shops, riverside cafés and optional cable car ride offering spectacular views across the valley, Matlock Bath is a wonderfully unique place to begin our journey.

We then travel to Castleton — a picturesque market town sitting at the foot of the Peak District's most dramatic scenery. Surrounded by ancient hills, ruined castles and sweeping countryside, Castleton is one of the most beautiful villages in England.

From Castleton, we make our way through the breathtaking Winnats Pass — a dramatic limestone gorge with steep, sweeping walls rising either side of the road. One of the most iconic and photographed landscapes in the Peak District, Winnats Pass is a truly jaw-dropping sight.

Our Day 1 highlight is a visit to Peak Cavern — also known as the Devil's Arse, this is one of England's largest and most impressive natural cave systems. With a vast entrance cavern and fascinating underground passages carved by nature over millions of years, Peak Cavern is an experience unlike anything else.

We then make our way to our hotel near the Lake District to settle in for the evening ahead.

Day 2 — The Lake District

Today we explore the Lake District — England's largest national park and one of the most beautiful and celebrated landscapes in the world, with shimmering lakes, rolling fells and charming stone villages at every turn.

We begin at Windermere — England's largest natural lake, surrounded by wooded hillsides and dramatic fells. Take in the stunning waterfront views, browse the local shops and cafés, or treat yourself to an optional boat ride across the lake for a truly memorable experience.

From Windermere we travel to Ambleside — a charming market town at the northern tip of the lake, full of independent shops, cosy cafés and the iconic Bridge House, one of the most photographed buildings in the entire Lake District.

We then make our way to Grasmere — a beautiful and peaceful village immortalised by the poet William Wordsworth. Set beside a serene lake and surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the Lakes, Grasmere is a place of rare tranquillity and charm.

Our final stop of the day is Keswick — a vibrant market town on the shores of Derwentwater, known as the gateway to the northern Lake District. With stunning views in every direction and a wonderful selection of independent shops and restaurants, Keswick is the perfect place to end a magnificent day in the Lakes.

We return to our hotel for a well-deserved evening of rest before our final day.

Day 3 — Steam Trains, Wray Castle & Kendal

Our final day combines history, heritage and some of the most scenic countryside in England for a truly memorable send-off.

We begin with an included Steam Train Ride — a classic and nostalgic journey through the stunning Lake District countryside. Travelling through breathtaking scenery on a beautifully preserved steam locomotive, this is one of those rare experiences that stays with you long after the trip is over.

From there we make our way to the magnificent Wray Castle — a striking 19th century Gothic castle set on the western shores of Windermere, surrounded by beautiful woodland and landscaped grounds. Famously a childhood holiday destination of Beatrix Potter, Wray Castle is a wonderful and atmospheric place to explore. Entry is included in your trip.

We then travel to Kendal — a historic market town widely known as the gateway to the Lake District. With its charming town centre, independent shops and the famous Kendal Mint Cake to try before heading home, Kendal is the perfect final stop before we begin our comfortable journey back.

After an incredible three days exploring two of England's most magnificent national parks, we make our way home. Please note that drop-off times are approximate and may vary depending on traffic conditions.
